The .nf registration service is meant for entities in Norfolk Island. Introduced in 1996, .nf is the internet top level domain of Norfolk Island. Norfolk Island Data Services (NIDS) is the sponsoring organization. Registrants can apply for multiple domains. Local presence is not mandatory for holding .nf registration. The pricing is comparatively higher when compared to that of other domains.
The second level domains available include .com.nf, .net.nf, .per.nf, .rec.nf, .web.nf, .arts.nf, .firm.nf, .info.nf, .other.nf, .store.nf.
Those applying for a .nf registration must accept the policies of NIDS. These policies are binding on all domains and subdomains with the suffix .nf. NIDS may modify the policies from time to time. These modified policies are posted on their website periodically. Registrants are also informed of the same policies through e-mail. If a registrant no longer accepts the terms and conditions, then the only option is to cancel the .nf registration. Registrants have the right to renew the registration based on NIDS policies.
All registrants have to pay a registration fee that is non-refundable. NIDS reserves the exclusive right to terminate a .nf domain name registration if needed. Registrants must provide some of the relevant information such as the official name of the registrant, valid postal address, functioning e-mail address and working telephone number including the country code and area code wth proper extension. Registrants should ensure that all information they provide is true, complete and reliable and any change in such information should be notified to NIDS in a timely manner. Any inaccurate information will lead to subsequent termination or suspension of the .nf domain name without any notification to the registrant.
The registrant is responsible for maintaining all information up to date, and he or she may be requested to submit the webpage or URL to the internet content
filters through the NIDS network. The registrant should undertake to use, display or exploit the .nf domain name only in keeping with the laws of Norfolk Island,
International law and other relevant state laws and regulations. The registrant should also be cautious against violating the rights of NIDS or any other third party.
